Big Crown 'James Bond' Submariner 1956 with mint service dial

A watch that is truly lovely to wear…..in fact I'm kind of hoping it doesn't go as I am enjoying testing it so much.

The so called 'James Bond' Submariner is a true icon of a watch with the no crown guard 8mm 'big crown' look and the workhorse 1030 legend of a movement.

The case presents nicely with four even lugs and big sweeping bevels correct for the period.

This particular example reflects a much more affordable price point having been fitted with an early 1960's swiss <25t style gilt service dial and matching hands with the watch presenting in excellent condition for less than half the price of an original dial example.

All engravings are clear and legible with case back marked 1st quarter 1956.

Stainless steel oyster case at 37mm, all engraving nice and clear. The back carries a faint inscription '' U.S HISTORY ESSAY PRIZE JUNE 1967'

Excellent condition gilt print swiss <25t tritium service dial.

None. Horween Shell Cordovan Leather strap.
