Double Red Seadweller Mark I 'Patent Pending'

Rolex began public sales of the iconic Seadweller line featuring the 'helium escape valve' in the late 1960's as a serious tool watch for the committed enthusiast after several years of prototyping and testing in the harshest of environments the oceans could offer.

They were so busy testing and developing the watch they didn't actually secure the patent prior to beginning production. These early models feature a back marked patent pending and are highly sought after by collectors of important tool watches.

The patent pending comes in two variants, Mark I and Mark II, varying on serial number batch and dial variant, with the Mark I being the most desirable.

Currently at Rolex service centre for a full movement service and minimal polish, the watch will carry the added benefit of an International 2 year warranty.

Case

40mm stainless steel oyster early 'thin case' with helium escape valve in previously polished used condition. All engravings strong and corrosion free. The case will be minimally polished and sharpened up at Rolex service unless otherwise instructed.

Dial

Mark I dial with a sublime faded red text, which overtime has turned a light grey/ lilac colour.

Bracelet

Early folded link bracelet in excellent refurbished condition with patent pend clasp.
